This week was really sweet! On Monday, we had a worship night with the full squad as the boys came back to visit and celebrated Shaylee’s 19th birthday! On Tuesday, Shaylee and I got had a one on one in which she shared her testimony with me, we visited the Chinese restaurant again. The next day, my team went to said restaurant again with an intern that is new. On Thursday, Payton and I went to the street market and visited a vendor I met last week. Throughout the week we wrapped up sowing the 300 journals that will be in the gift bags of the International Anti- Human Trafficking Conference. The organization also let us paint our own journals to keep which was super sweet. I am still not done with mine but I chose to make the covers fish and loaves. Thailand has been a reminder of Matthew 14: 13-21. Yet another example was by having our leader Kailey lead worship for the first time ever on Friday service. Another intern played the piano while Alex played guitar and I sang harmonies. Worship was super fun and we sang a throwback: “Our God” the leaders asked us to sing it again to close the service!

Later that day, we helped facilitate an event for the elderly in the community. We played would you rather and charades. Who knew the fish face we make in the  US would not translate here? One of the women was singing Thai music and I danced with the women. If you know me, you know I love to dance. After the event, we visited the red light district with an intern that has been here for a year and did a prayer walk. We definitely saw things that were evil and heart breaking. Afterwards, we went to the night market and got soaked by the rain. The next day, we went to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep which is a Buddhist temple located in the mountains. Though the temple was beautiful, my heart weighed heavily for the people who don’t know grace. Then we went to the famous ‘Monk trails’ in which you can talk to monks, unfortunately, Saturday was a holiday so there were no monks to talk to but again, God’s beauty in the trail was breathtaking.
Lastly, Quin and I went to the Chinese restaurant again and got caught in a flash flood. Water went up to our knees as we walked back home and you could only see half of cars and motorcycles. There was a bit of chaos as ambulances couldn’t get through to where they needed to go. Thankfully, the water ceased and our home did not get flooded.
