test

This week God blessed us with some English speakers! We have been going back to this coffee shop and have had conversation about Jesus with the workers. One of them is Muslim and was very intrigued in knowing that the test we use to get to know God is translated into more than 81 languages, because he prays in Arabic even though he doesn’t fully understand what he is saying.

We went with the pastor and his family to pray for the ill in different houses and as we went from house to house, children began to follow us until we had about 40 of them walking all around us. We had another delicious homemade meal and amazing conversation.

The next day we went back to the school and heard children passionately singing praises to Tuhan (God). My friend Frankie got to tell them about the story of Noah’s ark and have the children learn animal names.

My friend Drew and I taught direction words while playing Simon says and it was so much fun.

Lastly, this Sunday we went to Pak Minto’s church. My friend Jon played the piano while Kendall, Frankie and I sang ‘How He Loves’ for the congregation and Frankie also preached a sermon while the pastor’s daughter translated for the first time! We had lunch at their home and left with amazing memories and gifts. Their generosity, humility and hospitality is unlike anything I’ve ever seen.

  1. This makes my heart happy! I love that you’re encountering God through the people and experiences around you. And that you can experience the culture through food, clothing, and the generous hospitality and hopeful curiosity of the people who love on you. May God continue to open your eyes. Love you.
